Update, 3:15 p.m.:\u00a0The health unit has now confirmed there<\/a> are four more confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Collingwood<\/span> residents, which means there have been a total of seven cases confirmed locally.

Simcoe<\/span> Muskoka<\/span> District Health Unit has not yet updated the list of lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe<\/span> County and Muskoka<\/span>. The region’s medical officer of health, Dr. Charles Gardner, is scheduled to deliver an update via Facebook Live<\/a> today at 4 p.m.<\/p>\n

There remain three confirmed cases of COVID-19\u00a0in Collingwood<\/span> residents. A man in his 50s is reported recovered, a man in his 30s and a man in his 50s are both self-isolating and both are reported cases of community transmission.<\/p>\n

The province has reported an additional 411 cases and 31 deaths \u2013 the highest reported by the province in a 24-hour period \u2013\u00a0in this morning’s daily update<\/a>.\u00a0The total number of confirmed cases in the province is now 6,648, including 253 deaths, 2,858 recoveries, and 691 current hospitalizations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Say it with a cookie.<\/a> The Collingwood<\/span> Girl Guides are looking for community donations for cases of cookies – which they couldn’t sell door-to-door this year. The cases, once covered by donations, are being dropped off at local emergency services.<\/p>\n

Since the province’s prohibition on new construction, the area’s development industry has been impacted significantly. The president of the Georgian Triangle Development Institute says the COVID-19 is likely going to exacerbate the area\u2019s attainable housing crisis<\/a>, workforce capacity challenges, and backlog of needed municipal infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n
