A woman in her 50s and one younger than 20 are the 15th and 16th confirmed positive COVID-19 cases reported by the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit.

The health unit says the older woman contracted COVID-19 from a close contact, while the younger woman contracted the virus in the community. Both are in self-isolation.

Of the 16 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in the region, two are hospitalized, three, including second woman in her 50s, are in self-isolation while 10 cases are resolved.

In Sudbury, a city man in his 40s is that region’s 42nd case of COVID-19.

Public Health Sudbury & Districts said the man is self-isolating.

The agency said it is not known at this point how he was exposed to the virus. He has not travelled and has not been exposed to anyone known to have COVID-19.

He was tested April 17.

Updates about COVID-19 testing and confirmed cases for North Bay and Parry Sound, Greater Sudbury, the District of Sudbury, and the District of Manitoulin are posted online.
