It has now been 11 days since Hastings Prince Edward Public Health reported a new confirmed case of COVID-19 in our area.
Of the 42 positive tests locally, 25 people have recovered and five have died, leaving an active caseload of 12, with one of those people still in the ICU.
The health unit says outbreaks at two long term care homes and one hospital have ended, but there is still one outbreak declared at another local long term care facility.
The local case positivity rate has been dropping steadily as well since it peaked at 6.2% on Thursday April 9, dropping down to 1% this week, with more than 4,400 tests completed and about 300 results pending.
