Preliminary clinical trial results have indicated that chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine are not very effective at treating the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and can lead to serious negative side effects. Another preliminary clinical trial at University of Chicago Medicine has shown promising results for Remdesivir as a potential treatment.
