The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is reporting that there is an outbreak of COVID-19 in another Barrie long-term-care facility.
According to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit’s (SMDHU) website, an outbreak was declared at the Owen Hill Care Community in Barrie on April 24.
Outbreak protocol is automatically triggered when a long-term-care facility employee or resident tests positive for COVID-19. There are no details yet on the situation at Owen Hill Care Community.
Woods Park Care Centre and IOOF’s 167-resident Odd Fellow and Rebekah Home were also listed on the health unit’s “Current Outbreaks” webpage on April 21.
