
A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Parkview Meadows in Townsend.
Two staff members at the long-term care facility have tested positive for the virus as of April 24, the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit said in a media release on Friday night.
The staff members are in self-isolation at home.
All residents have been tested and all results have been negative. “There are no residents who are currently sick with COVID-19,” said the release.
Residents are in self-isolation in their rooms. They receive their meals in their rooms.
Staff wear full personal protective equipment at the facility.
“Health unit staff have initiated a full public health management plan and are reaching out to all close contacts of the positive cases,” said the release.
This is the second long-term care facility in Haldimand County where an outbreak has been declared.
Anson Place long-term care and retirement residence has had 27 COVID-19 related deaths as of Friday. The facility reports 45 residents have tested positive for the virus. Several staff have also tested positive.
