The Porcupine Health Unit is not reporting any new COVID-19 cases in its region.
So far, 39 people have tested positive for the virus, with 10 of those cases being confirmed in the past week (April 6 to April 12).
To date, health unit is aware of 663 COVID-19 tests being submitted locally. Of the 39 positive cases, 14 are resolved and two people have died. There have been 492 negative tests, and the results of 132 are pending.
Of the local cases, 24 are in Timmins, 14 are in the area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls, and Smooth Rock Falls, and one is in the area of Kapuskasing, Opasatika, Val Rita-Harty, Moonbeam, and Fauquier-Strickland.
Ontario is reporting another 401 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province (a six per cent increase) bringing the total number of cases to 7,049. There are now 3,121 reported recoveries from the virus, and there are 738 people hospitalized with the virus in Ontario. Of those hospitalized, there are 261 in intensive care units and 196 patients on ventilators.

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Spruce Hill Lodge in South Porcupine. It is the second facility in Timmins to have an outbreak this week. The first was declared at Extendicare April 9.
The province has extended its emergency orders until April 23, and added new measures, including restricting camping on Crown land.
